Music to Elevate Your Spirit
Friday, May 11, 7:30pm

We have been following Gaura Vani and his soulful music for many years and now our favorite kirtanist is coming to the Yoga Warehouse!!

Gaura Vani is a multi-disciplinary artist - fluent in music, film and visual arts. He is most known for his mantra music performances. His events are unifying and transporting - a mix of participatory rhythm and song, story and dance. He has traveled in Africa, the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia performing both as a solo artist and with his sacred music ensembles “The Hanumen” and “Juggernauts.”

Gaura Vani began studying sacred Indian music at the age of 6 in the ancient temple town of Vrindavan at a traditional gurukula school. He continues to share the magic he received and performs at Lollapalooza, Bhakti Fest, Wanderlust and other festivals, as well as private homes, theatres, temples, and yoga centers.

Gaura Vani is also a co-founder of Chant4Change, a mantra-music festival that took place in Washington, DC on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Don't miss this inspiring and uplifting evening.

Healing the Heart with Simple Songs of Devotion
Saturday, May 12, 2-4pm

All are welcome to attend this special workshop on embodying bhakti. Gaura Vani will share music and folk songs from ancient India, well-loved stories on dharma (living one's path) and introduce us to the more than 5,000-year-old practice of connecting to Radha and Krishna, the "Divine Couple."

Bhakti is a living practice of softening the heart through daily acts of humility, love and devotion. Sometimes our hearts become chapped and dry from what it takes to make our way in this world. We are often encouraged to be harder, stronger, more driven; and we begin to lose our connection with our Sacred Heart. Bhakti invites us into an awareness of the deep and personal relationship with the Divine in everything we do and everyone we meet.

Learn the basics of Bhakti and begin to bring this ancient intention-based practice into your life in practical ways. You will have the opportunity to weave together and embody these bhakti teachings with kirtan (call and response chanting).

$20. To register, call the YW at 954-525-7726 or e-mail us at

"Ahimsa, the Foundation of Self-Transformation"

Violence, unfortunately, is age-old. In our culture today, it manifests in an age of mass shootings with no other apparent motive than an expression of existential frustration outside of the institutional violence that we take for granted. We have a culture that is running amok. The answer to the inner and outer mayhem that we are experiencing is ahimsa (non-violence), the foundational practice in the yogic system of self-transformation.

$25. To register call the YW at 954-525-7726 or e-mail us at

Sunday, May 20, 7-9pm
and Special Guest Musician JORGE ALFANO

One of the highlights of Srinivasan's annual visits to the YW are these joyful evenings of guided meditation, chanting and an inspirational talk.

The satsang will feature music by South Florida's Jorge Alfano, who has studied and worked with many noted masters and musicians all over the world. His specialties are flute and string instruments.

By donation - please arrive early.

Sunday May 27, 7pm

We are honored and excited to welcome Krishnan Namboodiri, a South Indian Tantric priest, to the Yoga Warehouse! Krishnan Namboodiri is trained in the classical tradition of mantras (sacred sounds), pujas (prayers), homas (fire rituals), and yantras (sacred geometric designs). He is the priest of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas, in charge of performing daily rituals and special ceremonies. He is also a Vedic astrologer, and comes from a long family lineage of tantric priests, as well as being a popular hatha yoga teacher.

Krishnan Namboodiri will join us for our regular Sunday meditation gathering to guide us through a special ritual to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Yoga Warehouse. Everyone present will have the rare opportunity to participate in this auspicious ceremony!

Please join us for this special evening. All are welcome.
By donation, please arrive early.

Every Sunday evening, 7-8:30pm

Satsang means ‘“association with the wise.” Meditating together in a group creates a strong spiritual atmosphere which allows a deeper experience of meditation. In satsang, people of different levels practice together – from newcomers to experienced Yoga teachers.

Satsang is the heart of the Yoga practice. It consists of 30 minutes of silent meditation, 30 minutes of meditative chanting of mantras and kirtan and an easy-to-follow reading and/or talk on yoga philosophy or psychology. The steady, joyful practice of satsang tangibly builds the energy at the yoga center.

Our chant book reflects the inclusiveness of the Sivananda lineage, with a section of chants for each of the main deities, as well as chants in English and Hebrew. Many of the Sanskrit chants are followed by translations. There is a mysterious power in every word. Our Daily Chants (Jaya Ganesha) and a few bhajans are usually accompanied by harmonium and simple percussion. It is not your voice, but the inner feeling that matters.

We recite Swami Sivananda's Universal Prayer and conclude satsang with arati, an offering and receiving of Divine Light. We also share prasad, a sweet offering.

Beginners and members of all traditions welcome. This is a free event although donations are gratefully accepted. Please arrive at least five minutes early.

"As Satsang is the only safe boat to take you to the other shore of Bliss or Moksha [liberation], you should all try as best as is in your power, never to miss it." - Swami Sivananda
